Excellent bike trails
Melrose is the centre of bike riding in the Flinders Ranges. There are many trails in and around Melrose from easy to difficult, ride out to the showgrounds (easy) or tackle Mount Remarkable(difficult!!) Bike hire from Over The Edge Sports. Guided rides available if booked in advance

Mt Remarkable National Park Walking Trails
Walk one thousand miles or walk to the pub or hike Mount Remarkable or take a shorter walk to Cathedral Rock or walk around town and look at all the beautiful historic buildings. Melrose is at the foot of Mt Remarkable National Park, the Heysen trail runs right through town

Fabulous Flinders Walking Tours
Venture into the oldest landscapes on earth. Australian Walking Tours has designed the Fabulous Flinders Walk, a six-day fully-guided walking experience that takes guests into some of the oldest landscapes on the planet.
 
Highlights including traversing Wilpena Pound and an ascent of St Mary Peak; a geological ‘time-trip’ through Brachina Gorge, a cradle of earth’s earliest life-forms; and the soothing desert oasis of Blinman pools and Parachilna Gorge.
